Mama Bear Courtie
Here at Audrey & Bear, we believe in celebrating EVERY child. Those babies born at 29 weeks and those born at 41 weeks. All those who have been lost and mourned, and those who will live-on to celebrate children of their own! We help you design personalized baby and kid products to celebrate these journeys. For every swaddle purchased, we donate a swaddle to a baby in a NICU or Pediatric Cancer Center. Those who have received these special NICU blankets, or who have donated one through their purchase, write to us from all over.  We share their stories in our series called "AB Mama Bears". Meet mama bear Courtie.

We are from St. Louis. We have an 11 year old daughter and our new sweet pea Eliana. My husband is overrun with girls and we also have a dog named Lyric Michelle. Our family loves to spend time together and travel.

Rainbow Baby Eliana

My journey was long and came with so much pain. I had 4 miscarriages and lost 5 babies before we got pregnant with [rainbow baby] Eliana.

I had actually decided I didn't want to try anymore and my best friend was going to be our surrogate and then a routine doctor's appointment became a pregnancy announcement. I took Lovenox shots through my whole pregnancy and towards the end started having thyroid issues that lead to an emergency cesarean at 33 weeks.

It was the scariest experience of my life, and our sweet girl wasn't breathing. 63 days in the NICU and a few scares that we may lose her was a journey I would never want to repeat. Now we have our miracle from God home with us and I couldn't be more blessed.

Why Audrey and Bear?

Baby Eliana in the NICUWhen I came across your blankets I knew I just had to have the rainbow blanket but I never imagined we would be in the NICU. I'm so glad that by purchasing her blanket we were able to give a little sunshine to another family living some of the hardest days. (see how you can give like Courtnie)

For those of you still going through the storm-keep going. I promise you all the tears are worth it when you hold your baby for the first time, all the pain seems to melt away.
